Position Details:

The incumbent will be responsible for HVAC project management.  You will be an integral part of the project management team delivering successful projects throughout Atlantic Canada.  Frequent travel to project areas will be required.

Responsibilities:

  • Plan, organize, direct, control and evaluate construction projects from start to finish according to schedule, specifications and budget.
  • Prepare and submit construction change order estimates.
  • Plan and prepare construction schedules and milestones and monitor progress against established schedules.
  • Prepare contracts and negotiate revisions, changes and additions to contractual agreements with architects, consultants, clients, suppliers and subcontractors
  • Develop and implement quality control programs.
  • Represent company on matters such as site meetings, vendor negotiations, meetings with Engineers, Clients, and Inspectors.
  • Prepare progress reports and issue progress schedules to clients
  • Direct the purchase of materials and allocate human resources.
  • Hire and supervise the activities of subcontractors and subordinate staff.
  • Provide on-site inspections to ensure company quality control is achieved.
  • Identify, manage and minimize risks associated with challenging project variables throughout entire project lifecycle.
  • Ensure all HVAC project sites meet Valley Refrigeration & Air Conditioning and provincial workplace health and safety regulations.

Qualifications:

  • Strong awareness of client needs in a commercial environment, excellent client liaison skills, project management and team leadership.
  • Demonstrate extensive understanding of the HVAC construction industry, flexibility and a talent for negotiation.
  • Proven construction experience in commercial/retail HVAC construction project completion, combined with excellent analytical abilities and strong interpersonal skills.
  • Understanding of the construction documentation process combined with the ability to understand and interpret bid documents, construction contracts.
  • Familiar with MS Office, MS Teams, and industry standard estimating and project management software.
  • Bilingualism is considered an asset.

The following qualifications are considered an asset Valley Refrigeration and Air Conditioning would work with the successful candidate to achieve if interested.

  • Project Management Institute – PMP designation
