Position Details:
To install, fabricate, assemble, and repair sheet metal products.
A qualified candidate will be working their way through apprenticeship.
Responsibilities:
- Building products for HVAC-R related equipment for commercial and residential customers (and occasional project-based work which may require overnight travel)
- Laying out, measuring and marking sheet metal
- Welding sheet metal parts
- Polishing seems, joints and rough surfaces
- Reading and interpreting sketches and work specifications
- Some project management required as related to sheet metal work
- Updating and completing job related paperwork/work order documentation
- Adhering to all required occupational health and safety guidelines
- Work safely following company policies
- Physical requirements of the position include: lifting, pushing and pulling, standing, bending/crouching, reaching, climbing ladders, and working at heights and in tight spaces, as allowed by OHS regulations.
- Provision of your own hand tools and tool pouch
- Other duties as required
Qualifications:
- Possession of a valid class 5 driver’s license with a good abstract.
- Own hand tools, tool pouch and steel toe safety boots.
- Ability to travel daily withing the service area, with some travel to the outer regions as necessary (Company vehicle provided).
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, day and nights as required by the customer
- Ability to work 5 days per week with a minimum of 8 hours each shift.
- The job is physically demanding and involves working on rooftops and with materials such as industrial glues, refrigerants and electrical components.
